The sermon argues that 'experiencing Christ' requires a believer to shift their entire motivation and operational power source from the "death" of carnal law-keeping—a futile system of self-effort that reduces even saved believers to "babes in Christ"—to the "life and peace" of being spirit-led, a process activated by first counting one's flesh as dead in conformity with Christ's death in order to access the power of His resurrection through the indwelling Holy Spirit.
